Amazon gives Alexa a new name

Amazon has introduced a new wake word for its Echo devices

Through the Alexa app or the Settings menu for Echo Show devices, users can modify the wake word for their Echo devices.

Both the male and female voice options for Alexa can be utilised with all wake word settings.

In addition to "Alexa," "Amazon," "Computer," and "Echo," "Ziggy" is the fifth wake word choice for Echo devices

The voice of "Ziggy" was first made public in July of this year

when it was discovered that Amazon had changed the voice on their speakers to sound more manly

The voices must be altered across a house because they are not saved across a user's account but are instead linked to each particular Echo

In the app, Amazon referred to the two different voices as “Original” and “New”
